Long tall beams. Good brows

Unread postby rut » Mon Jul 25, 2016 5:21 am

Been capturing this buck on camera for about the past 10 days now. Good tall beams and decent brows. Will see how the points develop over the next month. Good body size.

Do you target bucks based on age or antler size? because hes gotta be 4.

I target them by age. I was thinking along the same lines as you as far as age. Body is really full. Blocky.

Great looking main beams. Maybe a bit behind on his growth for his tine length?

Yeah, brows are good for this time, but tine length looks sparse. We'll see how things move along in the coming month. Got the age though for sure.

Got a buck on camera, 4yr old ...very same. Really good brows, but very little tine length.

That's a mature buck short leg appearance big full body. We've shot bucks that look like that in Michigan that field dress over 200lbs and don't score 120. Good luck with him.

I'm running one of my old Leaf River cameras on this piece. Takes good pictures still. Daytime color shots are really good with it.

Nice looking buck. Those older Leaf River cameras were pretty good.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
