I'm not sure how familiar y'all are with moon phases regarding agriculture and plants in general, but I recently learned how significant the moon has on plants so I figured I would share this link with everybody.
From the site:
"Gravitational pull influences moisture in soil
Planting by the moon is an idea as old as agriculture, based both in folklore and superstition, but there are scientific ideas to back it up The Earth is in a large gravitational field, influenced by both the sun and moon. The tides are highest at the time of the new and the full moon, when sun and moon are lined up with earth. Just as the moon pulls the tides in the oceans, it also pulls upon the subtle bodies of water, causing moisture to rise in the earth, which encourages growth. The highest amount of moisture is in the soil at this time, and tests have proven that seeds will absorb the most water at the time of the full moon."

In theory plants have most available water during new moons and just after full moons, deer get most of their water through plants.
What do y'all think?

I'm in the AG industry as well, related to it anyhow, and I just learned about it a few days ago. A lot of old timers believe in it heavily and there is some scientific facts to it as well but from what I've heard a lot of the ancient farmers relied heavily on the moon phase during planting & harvesting.
It's hard to really pin point because there's so many variables that mother nature presents so scientists really can't dial in on how or why it can or does effect plants as our ancient ancestors believed in but it's an interesting concept none-the-less.

Growing up, I was told to never build fences during those moons because it would lift your posts. Maybe an old wives tale but it was kind of treated like gospel.
