I've gotten a few questions about my new saddle setup so here's the gear run down & a quick video.
Gear
-bod harness
-sit drag seat
-18' Yale bandit tree tether with dual prussic knots
- alps little bear fanny pack
-LW mini stick with Assualt seat platform
-3 LW sticks cut down to 24"
-2 step aider from webbing
-1 step aider
-custom stick Talon cradle with quick connect buckles
The video is at 2x speed just to make it shorter.

Re: Saddle setup
Nice video Cbigbear - we have very similar set ups - this is the most dialed in and satisfied I have been with my set up.

Re: Saddle setup
nice. You guys reminded me that I needed to get a ropeman for my linemans belt. Been using my bridge...but that really only works well on a certain size tree.

Mine is getting there, but as you know it'll never be prefect & always changing!!!! Matter of fact after climbing last week I discovered I just don't like the sit drag as part of my linemen's belt system. Even with the loops doubled & wrapped hookup is too difficult. Also the drag rides low so the rope is causing inference with my legs while climbing. It's back to my old linemen's belt setup. I'm also working on a back support belt for longer sits. Then I need to wrap & stealth strip my platform it's getting bumped by my sticks while climbing making noise.

I think most minimalist saddle hunters love to tinker - there is always something new to try. Not sure who first mentioned the ropeman1 but man what a game changer that has been. Looking forward to your future mods

Re: Saddle setup
Do you still paracord wrap your v brackets on your sticks?
Do you have 2 step etriers on each stick or just one or two?
I like the cut-down LW stick idea a lot. I made a two step etrier last weekend and used it to check a couple cams. I had only tried a one-step before. It worked really well, but i think I only want it on one stick (bottom stick)

Yes the bottom V brackets on all 3 sticks is wrapped in gutted paracord. It's durable & takes a lot of abuse.
Just the bottom stick has a 2 step aider, the second stick has a single step, & I carry a sling incase I want to add some height to the 3rd stick.
