Gnarly Ticks

Unread postby Bigburner » Wed Jun 08, 2016 7:29 am

I had to put this poor girl down today. She had been hit by a car mid morning and here back legs were compound fractured and she was hurting. I was riding down the road near my office and got flagged down by a women and here two daughters. Getting hit is one thing but the ticks on this girl were horrendous. The only time I've ever seen this topped was about 3 years ago I was riding a forest road and a fawn jumped out of the ditch and ran in front of my truck and clear into a tree. Its eyes were completely engulfed an rendered the poor thing blind.
I hope you all don't have a queasy stomach. Its been a bad year for those nasty parasites.

There is nothing about ticks that doesn't give you that urked feeling. The worst part in the north east is the darn things carry so many diseases...most of which are debilitating and often missed by health care workers- yuck. Then again, we have so few snakes here I prolly shouldn't complain

Ugly.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

If I had my way we would be carpet bombing the woods with Permethrin... Lyme is an epidemic here in Mass. and it's not even the worse of what a tick can carry and transfer to you.
