Post season to Pre season !!
Id say tomorrow marks the turning point in our year where post season scouting turns to preseason scouting. Bucks start to put up some bone. Deer move into summer patterns n the clock starts ticking. Now that mushroom hunters are gone n turkey season is over the woods go into a state of dormant human activity. Its a good time to get cams out , glass n shine. Good luck to all in you PRESEASON scouting!!!

Re: Post season to Pre season !!
Getting that time! I have some odds and ends to take care of around the house in June, then 4th of July weekend, and a musky fishing trip to the U.P. the following weekend, so I won't be ramping up to full speed until mid-July. I can't wait though, and I know there will be plenty of cam pics on the beast to hold me over until then

Re: Post season to Pre season !!
Yeah man! I've wasted alot of time driving around in areas I can't hunt to look at big velvet bucks. My summer scouting will be more productive moving foward. Only gonna care about areas I can hunt. I think the early season is the best time to shoot a nice buck on heavily pressured public.

Yes sir!! With turkey season over I feel like schools out for summer and it's time to have my way with the school yard! I just so happen to have tomorrow off, cams have been running in the yard for the past 2 weeks, 2 fresh 24 pack of thunderbolts and gps coordinates. I've been waiting on this day since May 1st, I'm a happy man

Re: Post season to Pre season !!
I have done a ton of driving in past years and seldom see any mature bucks out anywhere. Anyone else have this issue? I've driven around areas I know to harbor big bucks and/or have good populations.
I do have one farm where they come out reliably in the summer...every day almost but it isn't accessible to see from the road. I am thinking that perhaps poaching pressure may have something to do with it but not sure.

Nailed it! Super pumped June 1st is here!! A buck I am well familiar with presented himself over the weekend with great potential. Good bases and already passed his ears. Getting a couple of cams out this week

It's always a great time of year when bucks start growing visible racks, trail cameras can be utilized, and patterns can be established. Your right OR, it's quickly became 2016 hunting season. The countdown is ramping up.

I don't feel like I'm done with everything. I have 3 more trees to prep and I need to get it done. then I bust out the cams. Always something.
