buck and doe bedded?

Unread postby bowhntrxtrme » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:34 pm

Today I jumped a 130-140" 8 pt bedded with a doe on the edge of the marsh and woodline while I was driving my boat down a ditch. Im guessing that he is in lockdown with her and it is one of her bedding areas. Do you think the doe will return to that bed in the next day or two, to give me a shot at killing this buck while they are still together?

It is possible and worth a shot... Bucks typically only spend a couple days with each doe, might want to hunt it very soon.

do you think putting out the buck pee i took out of the buuck i shot 2 weeks ago will work for a coverscent, its in a spot where the wind swirls a marsh in between 2 woodlines?

No... I think the less scent ( of any kind ) and the more "surprise" the better your chances.

I agree with Dan, Just sneak to the same spot with the wind in your favor if your using a Muzzle Loader. Otherwise if you have to hang up just remember that most leaves are gone so stay out of their potential range of view.

i am rethinking my strategy for tommorow morning instead of walking in through the feild i am going to go by boat and kill him going to bed, hopeful thinking. The wind is going to be blowing out of the northwest. Im thinking this just might work.

I like it, thinking outside the box.....

What if they are already bedding by the time you get there? Then what?
