hunting tip of the day

Walk into your stand backwards. The deer will smell that your tracks are going out and think that you left.

Hahaha this reminds me of a guy I know that was trying to figure out how to get a set of boot sole sown on backwards so that if other hunters came across his tracks they would go in the wrong direction to follow him to find his stand. When I asked about what he was going to do when he came out and the tracks were leaving in he got a bit frustrated and said I guess I'm going to need to carry a pair of boots in with me!!!

Good tip, will have to try that. Do you think wearing Tree huger clothes camo in the tree would help fool the deer into thinking you are a tree huger friend and not a hunter? Also would burning Hippie lettuce incense make the deer mellow out and get the munchies to bring them into the food before legal shooting time is over?

I think you have something going here, deer better watch out this fall 8-) .

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Here is a tip that I found that did work a couple of times.

I was walking down this trail heading out of the woods (big dry woods not swamp), than I stopped turned around (180) waited a couple of minutes and went back that same direction.

This flushed a buck out of his bed. He was about 20 yds off the trail.

Another time I walked into a corner of a bowl surrounded by a swamp. I only went in 50 yds. turned around and walked out. When I got out side the corner of the bowl a few yards I turned around and watched the same corner.
Sure enough a few minutes later a buck stuck his head checking things out.

So you never know when a deer is sneaking behind you unless you watch your back trail.

I just turn my Ozonics on as I'm walking in, it's as good of a cover up spray as you can get.

That's funny.

Seriously though I have wished I could strap on something that looks like deer tracks to my feet so other people don't follow me in fresh snow, just for a little ways from the road. Probably wouldn't be something that would fool a skilled tracker, but skilled trackers have better things to do than follow other hunters around. Never fails after a snow I come back a few days later and see someone else trailed me.

I also want someone to market a boot tread pattern that looks like a maze of deer tracks or something like that so in soft ground it looks less human, for the same reason obviously.

I put this in the turkey thread, but this is a good tip, and some of you don't check the turkey thread so here it is:

On a serious note, what do you recommend for the right gas mixture. I am guessing shart gobbling is a fowl  :naughty:

Dan,

After that turkey video, my wife says we are cut from the same cloth. I have no idea what that means.

I thought it was reasonable. Simple Algebra. but crack + farts = big toms!

The corn slurper is also the perfect tool - why use a grunt call? People have no clue regarding the wisdom here.

I was explaining my hunt to a neighbor and told him I farted and they all gobbled, and the wife buts in and says "You need to do a video on that before someone else does!" LOL... wE MIGHT BE OF THE SAME CLOTHE, BUT SHE IS A ONE OF A KIND. LOL.

I was shocked to find out there are a few others out there with fart gobbling video's
