I bought points the last 3 years and this year I applied for a tag only.
If you apply and are not drawn the money is refunded minus application fees and $50 that will be applied towards another preference point.

Do you have to pay up front for the license when you apply?
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Yes. They make you buy the small game license, habitat stamp, antlerless tag and buck tag.

Man they milk it for everything they can. I think they may be right next to the medical industry for robbing us without a gun.

$735 including my 3 preference points. It's a lot of money for a deer tag but limited non-resident tags makes it easier to accept. If it was OTC unlimited I wouldn't even bother.
