Was hoping to apply this year as I'm sitting on 3 PPs. Unfortunately, my one hunting buddy's wife passed away recently while the other just had a pacemaker inserted. Have a few public properties scouted. Versus the public land I hunt, all I could say was WOW! It seemed like every property had trees shredded like they were elk. Looking forward to it, whenever that occurs.

Our group has 3 points. Last year we applied as a group for a license and didn't get drawn. I figured we better apply as a group so we are all either going or not. I just went on to the website to apply again. It asked for our group number so I typed in the number from last year. It says no group number exists. I'm guessing each year we apply as a group we have to start a new group number? Anyone know for sure?

I bought my 4th preference point today. I won't be drawing till next year. The 4th might not be necessary but I believe it pretty much guarantees drawing in.

We're sitting on three with plans for 2017 - I've seen some fierce debates about the 4th point being warranted.

I'm still tossing it around yet. I lost my job first, outsourced to mexico. I have a new job starting soon, probably next to nothing for vac. I also have a baby on the way in august. I have been to iowa scouting for the past 6 yrs, so the homework is done. I feel pretty confident about my hunting spots. I just hate to waste another yr. A guy has to wait too many to begin with. I might just flip a coin. Lol
