A quiet backpack?

Unread postby magicman54494 » Sun Apr 10, 2016 2:32 pm

I need a medium size backpack that is very quiet. I can't seem to find one that isn't made with noisy fabric. Also a lot of them have a stiff rubber coating that crackles a lot. Any suggestions?

I just bought a game plan gear leech pack from sportsman's Guide. I think it was on clearance for $25. Haven't used it yet but bigger than expected. It seems to be quiet and has built in bungee straps to attach to stand.

I got a timberhawk big basin it has what they say is quiet cloth, it was significantly quieter than all the other hunting packs. I got it mainly for my all day still hunting in the big woods.

I have a kathy kelly quiet pack it's made from fleece and is really quiet. They offer different camo patterns and pocket options and have back packs and waist packs of different sizes. They are a little higher priced but I really like mine.

I have an older fleece Rocky backpack. They sure don't make them like that anymore. It's not waterproof but that is why it's so quiet. Zipper is also very quiet which seems very rare nowadays. Tried finding one on Ebay but none listed.

Wife got me a fieldline pack for Christmas when we were dating. I was pretty happy with it right away... however I found the fabric isn't the quietest in cold weather. I married her anyway

I picked up a hunting pack from Bison Gear last year at the Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous. They were a vendor, I was impressed with the craftsmanship of their selections. Quiet, some break down to have multiple functions, and VERY durable. I've ripped mine through so much green briar and it still looks new. I picked up the Scout Haversack and use it as a daypack for scouting, ground hunting, still hunting, and even a saddle bag for my climber. If you happen to be anywhere they are a vendor, its worth trying the packs on and seeing them in person. A little pricey, but very well made in the USA...you get what you pay for.

X2 they don't carry huge loads as here is no internal frame. I still use my old Dwight schuh pack for that.... Both are made of fleece

I dont carry a pack with me that often. But I do own a tenzing TZ1250. I would say the materials are pretty quiet on their packs. I have always bought the cheap packs, and have never been happy with the material. Especially when the temperature starts to drop.

Another line of packs I would check out is http://www.rockymountainpacks.com/

These packs have always caught my eyes. But I have never put my hands on one yet.

I have a gander mountain hunter tec pack. Zippers are a little noisy but tons of room. Has the built in frame and hip support. Tons of pockets. Built in hydration pack also. Carry it every time I go in the woods. It's done me good in the 4-5 years I've had it

I've been using the same badlands 2200 for probably 12 years, it's been plenty quiet enough for me.
