Depends on where you are talking about. Up in Vilas County where I was gun hunting I would be surprised if there is any more than 5 deer per square mile.
It's a little better than last year but will take a few more years to rebuild the herd without shooting any does.

Like Dewey stated,if you're talking northern WI some areas are more than the 5 deer per square mile, mainly near peoples homes or cabins where baiting/feeding is pretty prevlent.
Oter areas one must count the lawn ornaments in some folks yards to hit the 5 per square mile number.

Southern WI, my favorite area I'd say is around 30. Another area is probably about 15-16 from observation and shining.

Around 25 PSM on most of the private land...and about 10 to 12 PSM on the public.

In my county anywhere from 40- 80 deer per square mile. And dont get me wrong, that dosnt make it easy....
