Chronic Lyme update and tick season reminder
Decided to put this under deer hunting to reach more people. So bear with me!
Been awhile since I last posted on this. For those newer to the site here's some links for some background on my situation if interested:

Hadn't posted anything for awhile because it was just much more of the same old thing or worse. Plus typing alot and reading on the computer is very difficult at times.
The docs say I'm doing better on paper. From what the readouts of their electromagnetic machines say. Each time I go back for an appointment. Whatever bug they've been attacking shows up at considerably lower levels. I just hope one of these days I also get some physical relief from my symptoms. Mainly less pain and more strength. I'm terribly weak from considerable muscle atrophy. Some caused from only being able to basically lay around each day. But alot caused from the neurological damage going on.
Like I've said before. I'm not looking for a pity party. Just want to show others how bad Lyme disease can be. Using myself as an example to encourage and remind others to take Lyme and tick borne diseases seriously.
Some pics of how I do things each day:
My book holder so I can read.

Do all you can for tick prevention. Keep cuffs as tight as possible. Treat your clothes with peremethrin. Undress and look for ticks once home.
Parents pay special attention to your kids.
Now everyone have fun outside this year. Good luck with all your scouting, fishing and hunting activities. Just be safe out there.
Thanx
Chuck

Wow Chuck that's a great wake up for us all. Hope you continue on a path to recovery. Can't imagine what you are going thru.
Your reminder made me go find my spray bottle of permethrin and gonna treat my clothes right away.

I agree, a great wake up call for people. A visual really makes an impression.

No joke is right. I would like to second what was written above. I sincerely hope you continue to improve and your path to recovery stays straight and true. This is a disease which does not receive nearly enough attention, awareness level by the general public is not even close to where it needs to be.
Kind regards to you and your family.

Re: Chronic Lyme update and tick season reminder
I wish you continued progress in your battle.
Last week I was out scouting & it was warm but not warm enough for the skeeters to be bad. I made the mistake of wearing a lose fitting t-shirt. I pulled 7 ticks off when I got back to the truck. I will always wear my merino base layer from here out regardless of the temps.

I had no idea that it could get that bad. I alway thought that once you got it it was easy to treat.

Your input on tick awareness on the beast in the past has made me realize I was lacking proper protection. You have already help this guy.

Wow stash hope you get better soon. This scares the crap out of me that such a tiny bug can do this. I also thought lymes was pretty treatable. Stash do u mind me askn how long you think the tick was in you? Or what the signs were?

Re: Chronic Lyme update and tick season reminder
Thanks for the heads up and hope you get well soon. My young girls have gotten ticks on them from sitting in my truck after Turkey hunting. One was stuck on my daughters scalp. Scared their mom more than anyone.

Re: Chronic Lyme update and tick season reminder
Thanks for making more people aware of this.
I hope you make a full recovery.
I just want to add that most deer ticks are very small, pin head size!
So make sure to check yourself thoroughly.
