213" public land buck
A guy in my goup shot a monster on Sunday on drive in public land.......WAY back in the cattails. SE WI Marsh. 20 3/8" inside spread 22 scorable points mass for days. The score is an unnofficial green score (obviously). He was an old warrior. He had an arrow wound in his rear knee that could've eventually killed him this winter.

Re: 213" public land buck
Thanks. I wish the pic would show the mass and the stickers at the bases better. I don't know much about scoring, but I think that this is where he get a lot of inches.
The kid in the pic is the son of the guy that shot it. One shot through the lungs as it plowed through the cattials.

That's a ridiculous slob! Being from the Waukesha area, I'm drooling over this buck! You say he was hit in the knee... How recent, could you tell?

Re: 213" public land buck
I don't think that the buck looks like 213 in the pic either. I wish I had a better one. The taxidermist said that he thinks he's all of 213. He's the biggest I've ever seen and put my hands on. He's gonna be at the GB deer show this winter. The taxidermist said that he'd have him ready by Feb. so he could take him to shows. What ever he scores he scores. He huge, especially for public land.
The arrow wound was probably a couple weeks old. His rear leg was pretty much useless...from what it looked like. No one saw him running, just moving a lot of cattails as he barreled through them. He didn't make it far either. Mike put a good shot on him. I wish I could say more about where he was shot, but I'm sworn to secrecy. There are big deer in just about all the marshes around here. It just takes work to get on them.
