You know what I got from this story.. It was probably his calling the law asking what to do about the mineral lick that brought the law sniffing around and getting him pinched..

Seems to me he got off on a technicality. Not that I view a mineral lick as bait, but if it's illegal then its illegal. They told him how to deal with it and decided he didn't like that option.

apparently this guy buys and sells land for a living ......
he bought this land because he knew this buck was living near or on the property. he planned on selling the land after he killed the buck ....that is just what ive heard from friends, 1000s of replies from Facebook topics on the matter, boone and crocket articles ect ect ect ....who knows
