It's about a days drive for me so I'll probably be coming home the day rifle opens. Is the draw competitive? Looking at the Keya Paha unit.

Draw competitive? For Nebraska? There is no draw. Its over the counter tags. Unless there is a specific draw hunt you are talking about.

You have to choose a county where there are no significant populations of people around. I rarely see another hunter on any of the WIHA ground. Of course, there really is not much WIHA ground left either.

I’m hunting zone 2 and 3 this year. Hoping for less
Pressure on the WIHA than what is in the zone 11 area
I used to hunt.
Are you hunting out west when you experience light hunter pressure by chance?

I live in Ohio and have great hunting here but I've been wanting to try a out of state hunt. How would you guys compare the hunting in Iowa to the hunting in Kansas? I know Iowa will take some time to get drawn and is pretty expensive. Is Kansas just as good?

Kansas WIHA is good if you stay away from the big cities! Tell you the truth, you can still nock on doors and get permission. People in Kansas are great people and if you go in Aug-Sept for a scouting/mock on door trip you usually can do some good. You can definitely kill big bucks on WIHA!
