For those that have food plots, what do you plant? What have you had good luck with? I'm really looking to draw deer in and yet be nutritious. Also looking for some ideas besides corn, soybeans, and clover. Thanks in advance.

Re: Food plot seed
The deer hammered my Oates, rye, and tillage radish plot this fall. I planted the Oates and radishes mid August. Then came back twice and top seeded rye in early and late September. I had a group of 7 does using it every evening almost till gun season. The occasional buck would wander thru during the rut phases.

The land I own is wet tarmac swamp butting up to a cedar swamp that buts up to a hardwood valley. On the east and west sides of the valley are ag fields. I have about 3 acres that I plant for deer and looking for something to help draw more deer to those plots. Beans always do good but are gone by October. Looking for something that will start to attract from November till season close.

yes beans are good but that is the problem with them they are gone fast. I would try standing corn laced with turnips. Not sure what your laws are but if you can wait as long as you can then mow the corn, makes it way better and it lasts longer.Good luck
