I would put his DVDs above the stuff on the guided hunting tv shows, but below hill country Bucks and marsh bucks by dan. Worth buying IMO.

Johns videos assume you have basic woodsmanship. Finding trails, beds, etc. He doesn't focus on early-mid October hunting, but he has a history of getting it done early. He is a heck of mentor if you are willing to pick up the phone.

John is more of an inspirational figure to me these days. Kinda like a Cameron Hanes. He is hard charging and getting it done in his 60s. He isn't complaining about slowing down. He continues to work hard and get it done. I say it all the time...no excuses. He lives by it.

John spent a lot of time with me by email and on phone working out my minimalist saddle.

Watched 1 and 2. Good enough to keep me entertained dreaming about bucks for a couple hrs. I had never really seen the saddle style setup in action so that was cool. His scrape setups were covered pretty good. How he focuses on cover to cover areas was good. I learned some new set up tactics n lots of refreshers on things covered on here alot.

I watched it. I won't say it's a bad dvd. I just felt they were repeating the same stuff over and over gain.

The Eberharts were the first people I read that made me start thinking outside the box a little. Jon is repetitive but so is his track record for killing big bucks.

I agree. Volume 1 has a lot of really good info, but volume 2 and 3 just pretty much copy volume 1. Definitely worth the purchase at this price though.
