Dan, I first found your page back when I 17, I am 21 now. Over those years, I can say that my success is attributed to the knowledge I have learned from The Hunting Beast, your YouTube videos, your book, and your DVD's/Podcasts. The past 4 seasons I have gone from seeing zero deer to successfully harvesting 2 bucks on heavily pressured public land these past two years. To you and rest of The Hunting Beast community. Thank you.

Good read Dan...learned a few things about you I didn't know. Not sure if it has been mentioned previously, but I would love to hear more stories about the rise of the friendship between you and Andre ... and how you both took the hunting world by storm ... I find it interesting how in life two birds of a feather always seem to meet and build something unique, special, long lasting etc.. no different than two super star athletes meeting forming a unique bond. Or perhaps those stories are best left for a campfire... I would like to be at that camp fire! Have a good night!

What a story! You wouldn't think hunting would have soo many ups and downs. Nothing better than being self made.

Thank you for sharing!

This. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I always tell myself the day I stop feeling this way is probably the day I should stop hunting. Great write up Dan, thanks for taking the time.

Went back and read your Story, Dan, after spenting countless hours reading through the forums, watching your videos, listening to podcasts, etc...

I have learned such an incredible amount from this site, and like many others, grew up with no hunting influence, nobody to show me the ropes, and have learned everything by putting in the time, trying, failing, and then learning from it all. The beast way of hunting was something I think I had always TRIED to do out of necessity and desire to harvest mature bucks, but didn't realize how much BETTER I could be doing it before I came here.

Out of all of the information I've compiled from you, and others on this site, the perspective you have on family and prioritizing where deer/hunting fall in the grand scheme of life is pure gold. I'm glad I figured it out while I was still young, and definitely still struggle with it at times, but disappointing the people that matter isn't worth an extra day of hunting, or another deer on the wall or in the freezer.

Anyone else ever reread stuff they know they already read, or is it just me? Worth the read again.

Yeah!! To me it's like watching the DVD's multiple times. You either glean something new or finally get an important point drilled into your skull.

The repetition is key. It's just drilling the tactics and philosophy into your head so it becomes second nature. Just like practicing a sport or an instrument or shooting, really. I'm glad I'm not alone in this regard as well.
