Time and date you killed your MATURE 4.5+ buck this season.

Unread postby ozzz » Thu Dec 31, 2015 2:15 am

Piggy backing of the other thread I thought it would be interesting to see when everyone killed their mature buck this year. I am choosing 4.5 because most probably consider that mature.

Post a pic so we can argue about whether the buck is indeed mature or not as well.

Think the word mature should be defined. For me personally, age has little to do with maturity... Experience and reaction to experience does. I don't think using 4 1/2 years as a baseline for maturity is a good plumbline as a 4 1/2 in Kansas and Iowa may or may not be as mature as a 3 1/2 yo from PA or MI. Public/private would also factor in.

Oct 27 5:30pm public

I think adding public or private will also tell a tale.

I think most would agree that a whitetail is physically mature at 4.5, 3.5 not quite there yet.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
