Thats Alabama for you! You could literally hunt the rut almost the entire season. The public I hunt has rut starting in mid to late November due to a Michigan deer being stocked there a long time ago. Then the native deer in the same region ruts mid to late December. Then around my area it's early to mid January. Further south it's late January to early February lol

That's been the case for me too. I learned a few major things. One is to be patient because you just never know. It's hard for me to do sometimes but this is definitely an eye opener. Also a mess up doesn't necessarily mean you've blown the hunt. I'm sure in situations really close to bedding it could, but I've made this mistake before and it resulted in me causing someone else to shoot a very large 8 that I would have got. Hang in there cause you never know...things can happen in a hurry!
