On a typical marsh setup, whats your furthest shot opportunity or shooting lane on average? I often find myself with only 5 -15 yard shots tops..... i find myself wondering is this a good thing or am i limiting myself to much? Guess it depends on the animal im set up on and different circumstances but lets just say on average?????

My kill shots have been between 5-30 yards with an average of about 12 yards.

Depends how high up i am most of the time. If im lower it seems im not able to shoot as far. But i agree with dewey as far as yardages go.

Re: Average shot distance in marsh?
That's a tough question really. I try to pick the tree that's the best set up and I really prefer that 22-25 yd range. Better shot angles, less chance of being busted and it's still top pin range. I've went back through the years at my kill shots on mature bucks...18 yds, 5 yds, 52 yds, 17 yds, 18 yds, 8 yds. The 52 yd shot was a little out of the ordinary. But if I had to guess with does and bucks from the past I think 15-18 yds is pretty common for me.

Re: Average shot distance in marsh?
an average of about 12 yards. (Dewey)
My last 4 shots in the marsh is right around 12 yards. It ended in three bucks I got & a really nice one ( 10 yards ) I didn't I hit high in the shoulder. My set up's in the marsh really only allow around 15 yards or less with how thick the cattails / brush are. If I'm up on a island well then it opens up and you can take it out around 25 yards... No 40 yard shots like sitting on the edge of a field or in the woods.
