Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
Neither I nor my friends are the caliber of hunter as some of you are.
So I am just wondering if you could go out and kill a deer on demand. Buck or doe.
I probably put in at least 20 hours for every deer I kill. Maybe it's closer to 30, and with luck!
I don't log it. Love to hear what y'all got to say.

Re: Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
Interesting topic...
I guess when I look @ it; I see between 30-50 deer per season and believe I typically pass on legitimate chances for a kill between 1 - 1 1/2 dozen of those sightings within bow range.
I have killed 1-2 deer per year for quite awhile.
EXCEPT when I hold off for a bigger buck...
I still hear Stanley comments ringing in my ears when he asks us hunters "how can you shot a big buck if you just killed another deer"... Makes sense to me, BUT, I do have to enjoy myself and this keeps me satisfied...

I believe I could. I haven't killed a doe for close to 30 years. Just don't get any sense of accomplishment, would be the biggest reason I don't kill does. My passion runs deep for big bucks so does don't mean anything to me just like 1.5 year old bucks. Not being haughty, just the way I roll.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Not on demand but I have plenty of chances to fill the freezer if I wanted. All depends on the land you hunt and your experience

Nothing is 100%, but I'm always keeping an eye on things and have little doubt I could make short work of it.

In certain private land areas I can kill does with little effort. One spot I hunted it was not uncommon to see 10-20 a night. Public is a little tougher but still pretty easy. It might take me a day or so to find em..but if I set 3 days aside to kill a doe n was serious about it I would kill one.

Re: Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
I have way more sits with no deer sightings so I would say absolutely not. Probably more of a product of bed hunting more than anything since I usually only see bucks. If I would hunt food sources and target does it still wouldn't be easy just since the population is very low right now. If this question was asked 10 years ago I would say it would be easy but not so much right now. Just being honest.

Since i seldom eat store bought meat anymore, i usually try to get s couple does each year. Not sure if i could do it on demand? In Montana on alfalfa probably most days i could have. I've been humbled a time or two but an old doe.

My land in south east mn presents a kill shot on a deer every sit. When I hunt public I have to work a ton harder to get kill opportunities.

Re: Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
Such a vague question is barely worth answering!!! Yeah sure I can kill multiple deer on demand if I go to private land that isn't hunted!!!! This means nothing to someone who hunts heavy pressured public

Give me an either sex tag, a firearm and room to roam. Fresh tenders by nightfall.
Some places, terrain and situations could be real tough though. But if the deer are there they can be killed.

I can take meat out of my freezer on demand.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Re: Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
I have a spot here on public I kill a doe every year within 3 sits. Been doing it there for 10 years. Now that I say that I'll never see a deer there again.

I think I would need some luck if I attempted to kill a doe on my local public with archery right now.

Re: Can you put meat in the freezer on demand?
Wide variety of land and deer populations out there not to mention what you hunt with. Some places a very good hunter couldn't kill a deer every hunt with a rifle. Other places a mediocre hunter will get multiple shot opportunities every hunt with a bow.
When a hunter of at least average skills just wants to tag any deer, their success is mostly just a function of deer numbers in the area.
Most of the areas I hunt - with a gun I could kill a deer every hunt no problem. With a bow....probably more like at least every other hunt.
