Same here on that one. Rebuild my score so I can do what I want(for the most part) when Hunting Season comes around.

If you want to kill a deer you have to be in the woods.

Yes, that's the point. But to get there, starting in the off season, my goals are number 1 identify three target bucks.

Number 2, identify 10 different beds and prepare setups with various winds.

Number 3 practice practice practice practice.

Number 4 perfect my technique getting into the tree without sound.

Number 5 just like somebody else who is smart prepare the honey do list and cross off items.

Fine more beds and better beds, rescout some old stuff, fine tune a couple of setups via milkweed this off season.

LOL! Isn't that the entire point?

 I suppose...

One of my biggest goals every year is to have a particular buck I've watched through the summer patterned and figured out the exact bed or bedding area he is coming from, setup within 100 yards of it, watch him come in with sweet film, and smash him. Big mature public land buck. Early season. That is my number one goal every year. If I can do that...I will feel pretty accomplished with myself. But here are my other goals..

-Edit all BTB vids by end of January

-Shoot a late season doe

-Scout 2 new marshes

-Fine tune 2 scouted marshes

-Find atleast a couple more PRIMO hill country spots for all day sits

-Scout Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa

-Gain permission on private chunk in a certain area i'm after big buck (approx. will be 170-200" if he still alive next year)

-Shoot bow and workout all season long...no breaks

-DO NOT SHOOT A 2YR OLD,I REPEAT...LAY OFF THE 2YR OLDS!!!! :naughty:

-Kill 2 bucks, 1 early, 1 out of state rut

-Make new DVD project

1.) Finish hunting spreadsheet to include GPS location, stand type, wind direction, approach direction and general notes.
2.) Increase scouting in off season.
3.) Build an inventory of target bucks.
4.) Take first place at a 3d tournament hunters class
5.) Apply what I have learned here each time in the woods

My number one goal is to scout remote areas of the public around my house this winter/spring. Learn each piece inside and out. And put my time in so I can be confident in my set ups.
