crazy sequence

Unread postby muddy » Sun Dec 13, 2015 10:35 am

Yesterday evening I snapped this quick pic by a buddies house and sent to him. Buck wasn't moving the greatest, kinda "droopy" as he ran.

This morning I get this back, same deer. Buck was really worn down and stunk BAD. No apparent wounds.

A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

They never noticed him, he's dead as a hammer.

Kind of me of the bull we had when I was a teenager, Vern. He was in a pen with pregnant dry cows and on the other side of the gate were the virgin heifers. One or more were in heat one night (imagine Vern's frustration) and when my uncle came in to milk cows at 3:30 the next morning he found Vern on top of the gate perfectly balanced and dead as the hammer mentioned earlier. All my uncle did was put a hand on his nose and gave him a stiff arm push and he slid off the gate in a heap. I would guess that he landed right on his diaphragm and couldn't breathe or struggle enough to get off the gate. So close to paradise....
After that, every time either me or my brothers went out with friends, to the prom, etc, the last thing we heard as we went out the door was "Remember Vern."

People in Iowa don't notice bucks of That size. Pfff there so many got to gate the yard to keep them out of house

That is weird. I found a turkey dead in a barb wire fence once

:o
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
