Where Do You Spend More Time?
I have a pretty good feeling, that a good portion of guys spend more overall time logged into the the Beast, than they do in the woods.
Do you spend more time on the Beast, OR more time actually in the woods? Be honest.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
I live so far from where I hunt and since I can only hunt the weekends (except for a week or two of hunting vacation) that over the course of a year, I spend only 4 months of the year in the woods (mostly weekends) leaving 8 months of the year out of the woods. I spend a portion of every day on the computer hooked to the web so its stands to reason Im online more than in the woods. Just the nature of the job I have.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
I enjoy the beast and check in to see what's going on multiple times a day but every weekend I'm in the woods hunting, scouting, loging, making fire wood etc. When daylight allows evenings are the same so hour to hour I'm in the woods a lot more than on the internet over the course of a year.

I'm not talking about the internet, I'm talking about the Beast in particular.

If your in the woods, you can count that as woods time even though it's both. I bet the woods time on the beast guys go right home and log in too.
And yeah, I just found out about the phone thing this year....I'm way behind the times.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
I was already thinking a lot of guys do both before I read any replies
I have spent a lot of time on the Beast. But I also have spent a lot of time in the woods and pretty well documented it this year. I am pretty sure I spend more time in the woods. I do post quite a bit but spend more time reading old threads....I am almost at least skimming every old thread on scouting, public land hunting, deer hunting, and 500 club. I read all the old threads in deer hunting in the first 2 years I found the site.
Normally I would scoff at hunters spending so much time online instead of the woods (AT, BS, etc) but the Beast is a freaking deer university. I directly attribute quite a bit of my success in the last few seasons to ideas I got of the Beast. I would not have believed it before I found it.
Oh, and I turn off my cell phone in the woods. There is no overlap and wouldn't be anyway because I am the last person on earth who will NOT own a Stupid Smartphone.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
The Beast for sure. It's easy to look at your phone on break at work or sitting in a waiting room at the docs office etc. if I had the free time, without question I'd be in the woods but I can't get there on a fifteen or thirty minute work break.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
I wish I had more woods time.
I consider that probably my biggest limiting factor, time to scout/hunt.

Re: Where Do You Spend More Time?
Not sure but I know its close if I had to guess the beast probably edges out woods time but not by much. I spend plenty of time in the woods and just as much time scouting but I work at a computer most of the year so its pretty much impossible to stay off the beast.
