Bobcat. A friend of mine found a dead deer hidden in the same manner, put a trail camera on it, and voila! Bobcat.

Re: Ever seen this before?
Figured I'd mention this is NH.
Bobcats are extremely rare...
Although lakes region North does have the "bigger" populations. Total state population of maybe 1,000.
Typically most are found above the notch...

Are you being serious Ed? There are pretty good populations in CT, MA, and NY.

because i used the deer handle to pull it out of the brush pile. this was in my backyard, and i was out there past last light and was back out first thing the next morning. definitely my deer, entry wound in the liver/guts, right where i hit her.
Gotcha.
Nothing goes to waste in nature.

Had the same thing happen to a few years ago. I've got pictures of bobcats, bears and fishers. Seems like a bear would have it tore up more?

Cats are the only ones that pull the hair off like that and then hide the carcass.

Geez, I thought your state would be crawling with 'cats. Were you one of the mountain men responsible for their near-demise in the '80s Ed?
