Re: Who bow hunts exclusively?
Some day I probably will be bow only some day but right now I have a bunch of young hunters on the verge of shooting age and someone has to keep the old man company rifle season. Too many fun years ahead.

+1 on this. Love using the rifle to cut down on the doe herd. Plus this year, I get to take the kids for the first time.

Like them both. Started out just gun hunting and eventually picked up a bow. Still like to gun hunt. As others have mentioned, most of my gun setups only allow for shots of 50 yards, so it's almost like bow hunting.

I've been bow only for the passed 20+ years. The first 30+ years I hunted with shotguns, muzzle loaders, rifles, pistols and about 50% with the bow. For the last 8 years I"ve been hunting with a crossbow. I can not draw a bow because of old age and surgeries.

Re: Who bow hunts exclusively?
I hunted our gun opener for the first time in 5 years this year and honestly don't care to shoot one with a gun these days. I shot my last deer with a gun in 2000 and can probably count on one hand the number of days I have gun hunted since. I usually have 2 or 3 in the freezer from bow every year.

Gun season in WI can be frustrating... especially on public land. But there is something about a crunchy woods coming to life with a thunderstick in hand! I prefer the muzzleloader season...

Re: Who bow hunts exclusively?
90% bow. I enjoy deer camp very much and would never miss the opportunity. It's the only time I hunt this particular part of the state on Public land. Lots of hunters and see very little action each year, but I enjoy the camaraderie of deer camp and the boys I don't get to see that often anymore. I prefer to shoot stuff with my bow no doubt, but if there is a legal buck that comes walking past me on opener, the 30-06 is going to bark, you better believe it. I also ejoying putting together new plans and scouting up there a few days before opener. We just finished our plan this year and are getting the boat out and going in by water. I'm more excited this year more than ever. can't wait for this weekend!!

I haven't picked up my gun in 4 years. Bow only for me! Everything else just doesn't feel like hunting

I only use a gun anymore when my boys are with me. However, both are really practicing to be full time bowhunters in the near future!

I have no enthusiasm to hunt goth a gun. I' saving my fire arm tag for late season archery. I don't think I'll actually use it but it's more or less to gather Intel and to see if a target made it through gun. If he does I'm sure I'll be way more happier trying to harvest him after another year of growth

I just bow hunt. I used to gun hunt but don't get any satisfaction from it.
