Doe language

Unread postby admiral04 » Fri Nov 13, 2015 1:15 am

Last night just before last light I had a doe come past me by herself. She was casually walking along, not spooked, not hanging around to feed. Just walking along. The entire time I watched her her tail was straight up, not flicking or waving. Just straight up. Is it true that this is a sign she's hot? There was no bucks in tow however I saw several young bucks in a short time prior to that but none were on any specific trail. What does the tail straight up like that for a long time mean?

I am not sure I would read too far into the tail being up as you mentioned. She may not have been on alert, but that's not to say she was or was not in estrous.
