Buck staying in pond

Unread postby SHoff10 » Thu Nov 12, 2015 8:17 am

We came up to this buck the other day. He went in and out of this water 4 different times while we were taping. I think he got an arrow or antler in the back.

What do you think he scores from my grainy photos?

Might be EHD or blue tongue. Check back here may be dead in a day or 2

I have seen a few bucks do this, every time that I've seen it, it's been during the rut. Not sure why. Hard to tell by pics but I wouldn't be surprised if he was mid 60s to 170. Looks big.

IMO they do it to cool their body.... he has been running and is over heated. I had a lab that would do same thing after running pheasants in warm weather. He would submerge himself to cool down.... then start running again. They can't sweat

I got a arrow for that stud. Then we can prop open the chest cavity with a stick.to keep him cool. Sweet buck

Does look bloody on the rump. Might have run into some coyote action.

My guess is he is a 160 inch.

Very nice buck and cool sightings/pictures you got of him.
