Doe Bedding Areas
When do you guys dive into them? Is there a certain date? I have been hunting the transitions between bedding but have seen very little action. Sunday was the first time I have seen bucks and all were running. I know of 4 doe bedding areas, some are small, but thicker than thick. Do I dive in early one morning this time of year, or keep hunting the fringe?

I dove right into one on Saturday and was able to kill a pretty decent 8 point as he came in checking. I busted the does out and set up over their beds pretty much. It worked for me as I was getting a little aggravated at hunting the fringes and not seeing anything decent. I would dive in early morning and sit tight. I actually went in the afternoon and kicked them out but had plans of being right back in it the following morning

I would dive in there now. Maybe sit in 1/3 on the most leeward side.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Doe Bedding Areas
Let me ask a similar ? I have a spot where they bed about 35-50,yds out in the tails. There is a small clump of trees that they come thru on the way out. Thursday afternoon the wind will be a straight w, at 25+. My thoughts where to get in a tree on the outer east edge of the trees. Not sure if bucks us a trail in the cattails. I did see a beat down trail just to the east of where I want to sit. No good trees to set up in close by. I will take a doe if given the opportunity. Hence setting up close. Does that sound about right? This will be a hunt going in about 1.5hrs before closing on way home from work.

If I have been hunting on the fridges of a bedding area, they obviously know I am here by now, is this spot burned out or can I assume there are still does bedding on the interior of the thick. NO ONE!!! has entered the bedding area, just the outskirts.
