So a friend of mine i work with was hunting tonight and he texted me he hit a pretty good one. He shot it at 4:15 and said he thinks it was a little far back but it wasnt guts. There was white hair where he shot it and only a little bit of blood on the arrow(pass through). He tracked it about 300yds then lost blood.
Hes not 100% sure where he hit it but what do you guys think? The white hair and the lack of blood on the arrow is leading me to thinking its a non-lethal shot...

He also said he was finding decent sized pools of blood early on.

I hit a deer low one year and only had blood on one side of arrow. Just like your friend it bled alot first 100yds then barely anything. Never found it and thought it probably survived.

How far of a shot? If it was close the white hair could be from the exit. Shots like this often have fat plug the hole. Tell him to keep after it. May only be 1 lung though.

Went after him too soon. More than likely pushed him.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Agreed. Hard as it is to do that one needed to be backed out of.

Sometimes deer have a lot of white way up into their arm pits.
But Tracking 300 yards doesn't sound good.
