Hat is off to ha for staying the course and finding him...it'd been a LOT easier..especially this time of year to brush it off n jump in a tree and just shoot another one...

I heard crows having a party about a half mile from where I was looking... so I walked out into middle of marsh and watched the crows for 30 mins. Picked a landmark and headed for it. I had to cross water twice.... but when I got to where I thought crows were... I smelt strong rutting buck smell... not dead carcass, and I was able to walk the scent to his remains. He was a pile of bones... picked clean by coyotes and crows. No idea where exactly hit was

Man, that's rough Bucky. I feel for ya, after having all that history with that deer. Glad you found him anyway....better than never knowing.
