backyard milk weed

Unread postby muddy » Wed Oct 28, 2015 4:55 am

Looking thru pics I came across these pics of my backyard "butterfly weed", which is essentially a decorative yard plant designed to attract butterflies. The pods are a bit narrower than ditch milk weed but they work the same.

That is awesome. I wonder if I can convince my wife to let me plant some in the flowerbeds. Do they float as well as the wild stuff?

Milkweed is milkweed, you can buy "the wild stuff" at most nurseries as well. So, to answer your question, yeah, it floats just like any other milkweed. Google "butterfly weed" and show your wife a picture, guaranteed she loves it. The stuff in my backyard is a brilliant bright orange on 2 plants, white and pink on a few others.
