Back out or get aggressive?
Was setting up late - grey light - this morning & got busted as he was headed back to his bed. He never blew, but rather ran a short distance, looked around confused, then ran out to the edge of the woods. I thought he was gone at this point, but I saw his outline as he turned around and came back to his normal trail, seemingly more relaxed. He made his way back toward his bedding direction.
Originally I thought it was over until he turned back. I know where he beds & now know his preferred travel route. Weather permitting, I think I might be in good position to ambush him closer to his bedding area.
My question: should I move in tomorrow morning or back out & give a little time?
I'm pretty sure this is a buck I filmed 3 years ago as a small 6pt. He followed the same trails & patterns today as he did when I first saw him.
Some of you that are familiar with this kind of set up, what are your suggestions?

Re: Back out or get aggressive?
I'd go after him this evening instead of the morning, as I have much higher odds of success in the evenings than mornings. If you can't hunt this evening, then I'd be sure to setup on him at least an hour before light tomorrow. Given the time of year, I would not wait. I'd actually have just moved the stand this morning and sat there the rest of the day, hoping to catch him on his way out cruising mid morning.

You need to strike while the iron is hot... Patterns change extremely fast at this time of year and a day or two can be a world of difference.

Re: Back out or get aggressive?
It is pretty clear what I will be doing in the morning. I couldn't make it back out there this evening.
Thanks for the advice.

Be sure to share with us, whether you're successful or at least a good story if you're not.

Good luck buddy! They're getting very close to chasing here, if not already, so there is a very good chance he slips up and walks in at daybreak.

Agreed. I figure it's a 50/50 at this point & certainly worth a try. Just wish the cooler temps today would stick around tomorrow.

It's only getting warmer... supposed to be around 84 degrees on Monday!
I'll be praying for a cold front!

Yep. It's hot! Might have to put the bow down and bass fish til it cools off.
