Mid morning cruisers
I was thinking about sitting on the leeward side of a ridge tomorrow morning to hunt and hopefully
Kill a mid morning cruiser.
But are bucks doing this yet? Are mature bucks doing this yet?

Not sure bud. I sat on a leeward ridge all day last saturday and sunday and seen no cruisers... I hunt the same region.

Re: Mid morning cruisers
A little early yet, but it can't hurt to give it a try. Any day now. There is a finite window between cruising and lock down. Don't wait for a report to do the sit.

Re: Mid morning cruisers
It possible now.... I guess
I think it starts close to Nov 1 and gets "good" Nov 4/5 thru 12/13
If it is a trial spot... go for it. If u know it is gonna be good I'd wait
They are moving though... Facebook is lit up with kills
I'm talking mature bucks... 4yr old +
2s and 3s moving all over right now

Re: Mid morning cruisers
Cruzing continues after 12/13 and goes all the way to end of month but WI rifle season pressure shuts it down. These are just my opinions... based on a decade worth of trailcams all over wisco

Drury's 13 explains dates and transitions better than I can.... Mark does it for a living and probably runs as many cams. Our group has close to 40

Re: Mid morning cruisers
I would say it is worth a shot. It may be a little early but not by too much. I would say in another 5-7 days it will be good.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Mid morning cruisers
I'd maybe be a little hesitant to hunt one of my best spots like that this early but if you can get in and out without messing up the area too much and you know there are shooters around it's worth a try. I'm also in western WI and have not seen or heard of much cruising yet but it's definitely the time of year where the bucks will be getting back to bed a little late from time to time. A couple friends of mine have had pictures of really good bucks at 10 am in the last week or so and these last few days of October I've traditionally seen good patternable daytime buck movement.

Buddy of mine sat yesterday morning in Trempealeau County and saw four bucks before 09:00 with one of them being 4.5yr old.

Re: Mid morning cruisers
Personally I wouldn't sit a cruising location just yet. I believe that all you might possibly see would be a younger buck but I guess ya never know unless you try. Just a bit early in my opinion yet
