I've killed good bucks both 3 year olds, the day of a cold front and the day after, but chose day after. Interesting to see what others say.

I like both... probably hunting both. But I think I prefer the day after

On average the real windy days have produced larger antlered bucks for me but overall the days after with lighter winds are much better for overall action from all deer.

I choose all of the above.

I killed my biggest the day a front moved in and my oldest the day after. Both need to be hunted!

Don't like calm days.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

One thing I always wondered on windy days is about doe movement. Don't they hunker down on windy days because their sense of smell is off whack, due to TOO much wind and inability to hear? If that is true, wouldn't there be less buck movement as well? Maybe that isn't the case...

I hunt in hill country, so high winds or not, the action will be on the lee side. Maybe high winds make the lee side even better because of stronger thermals and deer are protected.
This makes sense to me...

If its normal for that time of year, Day 1. If its a drastic drop in temps, sometimes it will lock em up. If the front moves in during the night, Day 1 evening or Day 2.

In real high winds in hill country I go low cause that's where the deer are. I have taken some good bucks hunting low on real windy days. Don't see a ton of deer but for some reason I've often seen some of the more mature bucks moving on those days. I do not like to hunt down low often in the hills but real windy days it has paid off more than just a few times for me.
