Just showed the video to my wife and kids, they were laughing hard.

Lil hodag loved the part of Dan waving at the camera......he does the same thing.

My wife liked the ending better??! :-)

Educational and funny! I have a game cart, but no sled. Going to rectify that this weekend. And I need a Mario and a trophy husband shirt. Loved the ending.

I dread the day I finally get a shot at a deer I deem worthy of the tag and drag out. I don't have anyone to call up here, to help me lol. I need to make friends around the metro.

Informative with a good sense of humor.

When you cut the back tendon to fold in the stiff back legs, I assume you can't hang it for skinning anymore? Or do you normally hang by the head to skin?
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

Yeah that little detail wasn't on our mind at the time. You do need the tendon to hang it or have a meat hook for the pelvic bone :)

Just wondering wouldn't it make more sense to swetter up the rack and put the deer faceing forward like the pic in Stanleys post. It would have a lower center of gravity.
Or not?

The buck was to long for that sled, and we had to prop the head up to keep it from dragging, and that caused the antlers to catch even with the deer facing away... I have dragged them forward and backwards in sleds and both ways are about the same amount of weight resistance...

A few people on youtube and facebook said they would of quartered it... I think that would of been more work. with 3 guys maybe the same amount of trips back and forth, but keeping the meat clean and having to wear it on a pack constantly combined with having to drag it to a dry area, cut it up in a woods, etc, just seems like a lot of work... Dragging it out with sled and cart was actually pretty easy.

I dropped this one off at a butcher, and he let us know how "pleased" he was about that... LOL.
