Surrounding land is all privately owned.

Most likely a neighbor "sneaking" in.

A kind note is a good idea. Good luck!

Although on the first note giving instructions I did include contact information..........

This person had time (4 days) to remove stand and or contact me, he choose not to.

Therefore the stand was removed........per owners instructions.

This week will be interesting.

Stay tuned.

I was just curious if they had your contact information. And, I wondered if they would actually contact you to get their stand back.

that sucks Robert, I would get back in touch with authorities also and update them so they know what is going on. if a confrontation happens call the authorities or if you see them out there call them before you confront them and let the law handle it. its not going to end nice at this point.

I received a phone call from the person who owns the tree-stand.

We will meet with one another within the next few days and go over the issue of tree-stand placement and private land / trespassing.

I will give back the stand and obtain a clearer story.

We will meet at a designated predetermined location so we are both comfortable.

stay tuned.

I would meet at the police station. Get a deputy to inform him if you call about him treepassing again, a ticket will be issued.

The individual that put the stand in the property contacted me via phone. Introduced himself and stated he had communication / locations problems in regards to stand placement and apologized.

I currently have the tree-stand, etc. and told him we are to meet at a mutual location to exchange information and return his stand. That was about 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from him since.

I do know who he is, where he resides and pretty much enough information to if necessary to contact him and go from there.

No other intrusions or trespassers, therefore I'm waiting for his next move.

Found another stand 0n 12/30. Immediately removed stand without being a nice guy. This time there was a lock and cable, both removed.

No follow up with previous person, therefore I have two stands.

Hunting stands rather than deer, priceless.

I have until 1/31/2016 wonder how many more stands?

I think some people just assume nobody else is hunting during late archery and so take assumption that nobody will notice them taking liberty to hunt wherever they please.

If they were willing to invest some time and knock on some doors, they could find their own place to hunt late season and have exclusive rights for years to come.

Absolutely.
Thought I would be nice and leave a note, no that doesn't work.

Well I will be coyote hunting and I'll be sure to watch for trespassers. I'm not going anywhere and certainly not changing my plans for hunting. Problem is that the deer have a different idea.

what kind of stands are they? I'd sell them if they were good stands. I used to say that was stealing and no better than the trespasser, but in cases like this, they know they are trespassing and it's not an accident of unidentified property lines. hit em in the pocket book and make some money off of them. this is one reason why I don't plan on buying my own land. spend a lot of money and not even be able to enjoy it because of scum bag trespassers.
