When do you guys start hunting Lee sides of ridges? Do the bucks cruise them this early in the year? I'm in PA and as far as I know they aren't searching for does this early. My plan is to hunt a top third tomorrow with the wind coming over the ridge but donno if it's a waste of time if the rut isn't in.

Re: Lee sides???
Leeward slopes make good rut funnels. I usually don't hunt leeward hills until late Oct. when bucks are on their feet looking for does. I haven't had much luck hunting hills prior to the rut so I couldn't say much about it.

Re: Lee sides???
Great question, I am pretty curious as well. Will these bucks be bedding on these leeward side with wind at there back looking downhill all year, early and late season the same??
