My uncle's disabled hunt at Fort McCoy

Unread postby BigHills BuckHunter » Fri Oct 09, 2015 1:27 pm

This is the second year overtaken my uncle on the disabled hunt at Fort McCoy. I'm his helper or guide. We had an awesome time! The first morning he missed a doe at 100 yards so we were down about that.

I thought of an area where there was good cover with many acorns. We prayed and went out to hunt for the morning. We didn't see a thing at first but then at 7:45am a buck stepped out and a good one. He didn't see him at first but then he said there he is! He shot him through both lungs and dropped him on the spot. We laughed and shouted gave high fives and checked him out. He turned out to be an 8 pointer with 16 inch spread. One of his biggest bucks if not the biggest. I only have pics in my phone so if someone wanted to give me your number I could text to you to put on the site. This is a memory I will never forget that's for sure! 8-)

My uncle had a stroke a few years back and has lost many abilities but he still has the passion to hunt.

Excellent for him to still get to occasionally enjoy the great outdoors and partake in a wonderful tradition!
