I hunted a bedding area this evening that I found last year on some public land, we Had an east wind today but The forecast called for a northeast wind later in the evening so i waited for the wind to shift a little so I could set up just to the east of the bedding then Carried my stand and sticks in and set up right on the edge of the bedding thicket with an off wind. I get settled in about 4:30 and around 5:00 I hear something in the thicket moving around. I finally spot a buck walking towards me, he comes to about 40 yards and beds down almost directly downwind of me. All I can do is watch him and wait for him to get up..2 hours later he stands and starts walking directly down wind of me. And presents a broadside shot in one of my only spots I can shoot. I took shot and my arrow nicked a limb on the way there and missed.i don't know I thought I had a clear shot but I guess not.

Bum luck Jp. It happens. Sounds like your setup was solid.
