Re: Michigan guys !!
Hoping to see the Michigan boys doing work. WTA is on a big boy and going in for the kill tonight. Had a mature buck encounter last night out of the bed I was hunting, will be making a slight adjustment tonight to try and seal the deal. Good luck boys!

Re: Michigan guys !!
Made it out last night but then was waken during the night with a throbbing headache, drenched in sweat and a 105.7 temperature. Looks like I'm out of commission for the weekend. Good luck fellow MI. Beasts!!

Re: Michigan guys !!
Hopefully the Michigan boys can get something on the ground here tonight. Last night was a bust, but was a good way to kick off the season with a mile hike in through chest high brush and grass...I was whipped by the time I made it home, decided to call into work and sleep in. Feeling rested and ready to get back at it. I'm hunting a bed tonight that I missed a really nice buck out of last year...I'm fairly certain that buck made it through last year. Conditions look good for this evening. Good luck wta, hope you get it done tonight

I had 7 does and fawns by me last night. Bullwinkle did'nt show. They strolled out of the bedding.g area that has a couple buck beds. Might be rut beds. Snuck in there quiet has a mouse and set up my sticks and stand. Just got to say stealth strips are awesome. Not sure I could of done it without them.

Re: Michigan guys !!
I managed to kill a 3 yr old 7 point at 6:20 last night on a public land spot out in the Sleeping Bear National Park. Made for a little head scratching for a setup with the N.E winds we are having right now...I did not expect that at all. 3 bucks and 1 yote strolled by and I let 2 arrows go...got the yote and the biggest of the 3 bucks

They definitely are making a major impact from what I've seen, there is little doubt. The bucks are getting bigger and older there every year.
In a different area I occassionally hunt the antler restrictions are also making an impact, the buck sign and population has made a significant jump.

That's good to hear. I wished it would of passed in zone 3. Even tho over half the votes were for it they needed a 66% majority.

Scott we are seeing a sizable jump in the buck population, the largest increase seems to be in the 2yr old group (visibly atleast) One of the byproducts I am noticing activity increase and early rutting signs as the increased number of bucks is causing them to start earning a spot in the pecking order quicker than they used to. The competition is heating up. it makes the hunting a lot of fun to have a chance to see these things that were so rarely visible in the past here.
