I'm switching to a rock climbing harness this year.. It is super light and looks like like it will give me more movement with the lanyard being lower.

I have used the seat of the pants harness for years. The lineman's belt option has been very useful to provide a hand free situation for hanging stands. Once I have it on I don't even know that it is there. I simply won't go up a tree without it.

I have a HSS vest that I use with my climber. I find it to be comfortable. I am connected to the tree from the moment I step not to the bottom platform until the moment I step off.

Whatever you do don't skimp on your harness and wear what you get. your life may depend on it.
