Iowa in 2017

Unread postby Troutking » Tue Sep 15, 2015 11:19 pm

I admit this is a bit of an odd post and somewhat of a long shot. I currently have 3 preferance points and will be getting a 4th this next summer. I plan on hunting Iowa in 2017. I am wondering if any fellow beast members would be interested in renting a house or cabin in Iowa and hunting in the same area. Creating more of a deer camp atmosphere rather than being completely solo. None of my hunting buddies in MO seem to have the desire to pay the money to hunt Iowa so currently I'm on my own when I go. Although being solo is usually how I roll the idea of going to Iowa for a couple weeks without others seems a bit boring. I'm not talking about hunting in the same tree and being side by side in our pursuits. Just having a base camp together. If this appeals to any of you fellas feel free to reach out to me. Good luck this season.

Not sure what area Muddy. I haven't done much homework yet. Thinking somewhere southern since I live in MIssouri. If you have a specific zone and public recommendations I would appreciate it. I also have some private land opportunities through some friends so that will be taken into account.

Send me a message on some of your specific location/areas and I'd happily tell you of places I know of.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately. Buddies don't like to leave the comfort of their farm and then you find one that does, but you are several points in and he has zero. I'm sitting on 2 points, didn't apply for one this year due to lack of sign in area I originally wanted to go. I'm heading out to the west side and should draw in 2016.

I'm in the same boat also. I've got 2 points. I'd be interested but I'm a point behind you.

It's hard to get anyone I know to buy a preference point, let alone actually go scout a time or two and hunt for a week or two.

I'll definitely be hitting you up for advice. I need to talk to my domestic manager. I plan to hunt zone 9.

I'm originally from Eastern Iowa, still get back a lot. Even if I can't set you on ground it'd be fun to meet up.
