1st public land buck
Got in on a couple nice bucks last night thanks to my brother's scouting. We spent a couple weekends on snowshoes last february but he showed me a spot I did have time to check out last spring. Oh and if anybody found a green GPS please PM me.
Anyway around 5:30 last night I stared down a really awesome wide buck that seemed to have pegged me and wouldn't come any closer than 35 yards in the brush. About 6:00 this buck came from the same direction but a different trail. The wind had just shifted before he came and I could feel it on my neck instead of my face. Wasn't sure if he was picking up my funk... but while he was standing there at 15 yds I drew picked a spot and drilled him before he could do anything about it.
He whirled under a brushy tree I heard a couple crashes and splashes but figured the sound stopped to quick for him to have gone far. I quickly got out of the tree found a sweet sticky bloody red arrow and in the fading light found the buck 30 yards away. After getting really lost in the dark several times and lots of marsh bog dragging I think we have successfully stacked the marsh for the rest of you
