Copying this over from another moon thread. You should be able to use my link and instructions to find what you are looking for without getting a moon guide.

****************

I use this site, type in your zip and the date to start. After the results show go to the 30 day drop down and select Solunar Table - Detailed 30 Day - All the first/last light times and moon overhead/underfoot times are there for your area.

http://www.usprimetimes.com/zip.html

In early season I focus on the evenings and the dates of Sept 19-21 look good, the 20th being the best based on my experience. The next set of evenings that look good are Oct 2-4, again with the 3rd looking the best. You might have to adjust a little bit for your area but this should be based on minutes and not hours or times zones.

A couple of examples for my area.
Sept 20 - Moon Overhead 6:50pm - Last light 7:48 pm
Oct 3 - Moon Underfoot 6:25pm - Last light 7:22 pm

The evening around the above dates might work as well but the moon is peaking a little further away from last light the night before these dates and the moon peaks very close to last light the night after these dates.

Headgear helped we on the last one. BTW thanks I appreciate it. Dan will post when he can. So far usprimetimes.com seems to be the best. I am literally sitting down to try and do it myself and I will prolly compare to Dans. According to these guys it's pretty easy. usprimetimes.com will show 1st Light, Sunrise, Moon o/h & u/f, Sunset & Last light all for each day.

The only thing I wonder about is - o/h / u/f right at / right before first light (vise versa) right at / after last light - good to go times? Example: first light=630am sunrise=7am and o/h / u/f is 615am?

In the mornings the moon time can be before or after dark, both might keep the deer on their feet a little longer.

Have a couple of questions about this stuff

I'm going to be trying to time my pto time at work with the moon guides this year. I've never used this but ideally how close to sunset/last light do you want the moon to be overhead/underfoot.

Does either overhead or underfoot seem to work better then the other one

Does moon phase make a difference or is just the distance from earth to moon all people are concerned about when they use this stuff?

Thanks

I just sat down last night and did mine and hopefully my advice is right, these other guys know more.

1 - when choosing your dates I think the Time Cutoff is in the region of 30-45mins BEFORE 1ST LIGHT & AFTER LAST LIGHT. You mainly want those times to be during shooting hours or as close as possible. The Best Time Example for this season I can give is Nov 2nd - First Light=6:02am O/H=5:13am U/F=5:37pm Last Light=5:29pm

2 - I heard dan say in Podcast some believe O/H makes more of an impact (which makes sense) but there has been results with both.

Anyone disagree?

For AM hunt I think anything inside an hour of first light could work depending how close the food sources are, within a half hour would be better. After that anything an hour or so after first light in the AM would be great too. During the rut any moon time could be good so remember that as well.

In the evenings anything within 2 hours of last light will work but I have had my best luck when the peak moon times are within an hour of last light. Anything super close to last light or just after last light hasn't been all that great to me, seems like the deer are ok sitting tight and moving after dark. Maybe others will have had other experiences but that is what has worked for me.

Read this article to get a little clarification on the overhead/underfoot, rising/setting moons.

Some say overhead is better than underfoot. Andrae D' Acquisto is one that prefers o/h in the am
