Bumping Deer

Unread postby ozzz » Sun Aug 30, 2015 5:08 am

Food Plot back in the woods. Better to walk in and bump them or drive a truck straight on to the plot and bump them off that way?

What you doing at the food plot?
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Overall maintenance things a few times a year. Liming, tilling, planting, fertilizing. There is a water hole and a trail cam that I drive right up to.

The alternative is parking at the front of the property and walking through the entire thing how many ever times it takes.

There is an easement that already gets use there so I just cut a two track off the easement like 75 or so yards.

I would drive back there. Machinery seems to not bother deer so much.

I use my ATV. I set my cameras on the edge of my food plots in summer so I can drive right up and check the cam and leave no scent on the ground.

If you want to kill a deer you have to be in the woods.
