Different Weather Forcast Question

Unread postby cwoods » Sat Oct 30, 2010 12:06 pm

So one of my local news channels is calling for a W/SW wind tomorrow. However the Weather Channel is saying SE. What do the Beast Members do in a situation like this? Not sure what plan of action to take now. I have the "wind checker" powder but, I was to know ahead of time where I would be hunting tomorrow a.m. Thanks

I would go with your local channel if it is close to you. Where I live My local channel is minneapolis and I live 1.5 hours east of there. I allways check my computer and type in the nearest town or zip code. it works for me.

I have walked in and left if the wind is not in my favor. it sucks when you walk in and find out that the wind is wrong. you loose time getting to another stand, but no sense ruining it.

Often times the local is more reliable. I have noticed this year that even the local wind forecast doesn't seam to go into effect till 9am or so. VARIABLE WINDS SUCK!

Wind is often off a little to what they predict... I try to find an open flat area before going in and checking with milkweed.
