It's been discussed on here several times what each hunter does when he approaches an animal he just killed. Has anyone ever done this? I think it's kinda weird.

I share all my kills with my wife. So it's a little more kosher...

All kinds of hunting cultures and individual hunters have their own rituals. Some native men up here make a point of sharing tobacco (no they don't make the deer smoke) - having a solemn smoke in honor of the beast that gave its life. Some others will eat the heart right away. The benoits smear a couple lines of the animal on their faces. This guy kisses his ram... Who am I to judge. To each his own.

Antis don't need a photo like this to fuel them. There are plenty of bloody carcasses held up proudly by hunters all over the intertubes in gruesome looking photos (at least for the uninitiated).
