I made 2 small food plots today on one of my small properties. I tucked it in between a couple brushy islands, next to a woodline edge of a crop field. I knew some doe used this general area to bed sometimes, but its about 30-40 yards away. While I made a small pass to connect the 2 small plots between some brush islands, I looked in the brush and saw a well used now buck bed. Single bed, well worn, I probably bumped him out. My guess is a smaller buck based on what Ive seen from this direction while hunting. What to do? Will he continue to bed here? I mowed and tilled some tall grass literally 5 yards from his bed.
Should I put a couple cams up to see if he comes back, and what buck he is? There no where else to put the plot here so Im still glad I did it, but was dissapointed when I saw this bed. Its pretty tight quarters small lots in this spot, but the bucks have lots of preferred bedding nearby. Thats why Im guessing he was small but never know. I could get in the bed to check for tracks, or put cams up.
What do you think?

All you can do now is wait and see... I have some plots next to buck bedding areas, they only get hunted 2 or 3 times a year.

Might be better he did'nt bed their right in the food. I know professional land managers that destroy beds on purpose if they bed next to access or to close to their set up. Hard to answer tho without seeing the big picture.
